San Telmo Market
- When
- Sundays, 10:00–17:00, all year round, including public holidays. Craft fairs along Defensa and nearby passages also run on other days, each with its own published dates.
- Where
- Plaza Dorrego (Humberto I and Defensa) and Defensa street, from the Plaza de Mayo end south towards Parque Lezama.
- What to find
- Antiques and collectables on the square; handmade crafts, leather, silverwork, mate gourds, clothing, illustration, fileteado and art along the street.
Recoleta Craft Fair (Plaza Francia)
- When
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Check the hours of your chosen date: the different fairs in the area have their own schedules.
- Where
- Plaza Intendente Alvear and Plaza Juan XXIII, beside the Centro Cultural Recoleta, near Av. del Libertador.
- What to find
- Pieces made by the stallholders themselves in ceramics, leather, wood, metal and wool, plus a visual arts section.
Plaza Serrano Market (Palermo)
- When
- Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Check the hours of your chosen date: the different Palermo fairs have their own schedules.
- Where
- Plazoleta Julio Cortázar (Serrano and Honduras), Palermo Soho. Honduras and Gurruchaga and Plaza Palermo Viejo are close by.
- What to find
- Work by more than forty visual artists, clothing with original prints, leather and silver accessories, costume jewellery, mate gourds and handmade games.
Mataderos Fair
- When
- Sundays from March to December, 11:00–19:00. Cancelled when it rains.
- Where
- Av. Lisandro de la Torre and Av. de los Corrales, in the Mataderos neighbourhood.
- What to find
- Traditional crafts (silverwork, leather, textiles, mate gourds), regional food such as empanadas and locro, a folk music and dance stage, and gaucho skills.
Parque Centenario Craft Fair
- When
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (except 31 December and 1 January). Each fair publishes its hours with its dates.
- Where
- Parque Centenario, Caballito. The main entrance to the craft fair is by the flagpole at Av. Díaz Vélez and Leopoldo Marechal.
- What to find
- Ceramics, leather, textiles, glass, metalwork and other crafts made by the stallholders themselves.
Choose the experience you want
San Telmo is best known for antiques and its historic street setting. Mataderos combines crafts with regional food and folk culture. Recoleta, Caminito and neighbourhood craft fairs offer different mixes of art, design and souvenirs. These are distinct experiences, not interchangeable names for one market.
Street fair or indoor market?
